Biden chal­lenges Trump to two debates before Novem­ber elec­tion

Pres­i­dent Joe Biden has chal­lenged for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump to two debates before November’s gen­er­al elec­tion.
“Don­ald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020, and since then he hasn’t shown up for a debate,” Biden said in a video released Wednes­day. “Now he is act­ing like he wants to debate me again. Well, make my day, pal. I’ll even do it twice… I hear you’re free on Wednes­days.”
In addi­tion to the video, Biden deputy cam­paign chair Jen O’Malley Dil­lon sent the Com­mis­sion on Pres­i­den­tial Debates a let­ter advis­ing mem­bers the pres­i­dent would not be tak­ing part in their events, and out­lin­ing its pro­posed time­line for the debates.
