Film Direc­tor Oliv­er Stone Defends Trump Amid Crim­i­nal Tri­als: ‘It’s Called Law­fare’

Film direc­tor Oliv­er Stone defend­ed for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump in an inter­view that was pub­lished over the week­end against the crim­i­nal tri­als that he faces.
Speak­ing with Vari­ety, Stone, who is a staunch oppo­nent of the for­mer pres­i­dent, com­pared the tri­als that Trump faces with the tri­als that oth­er world lead­ers face.
“The charges on both sides of the Trump-Biden elec­tion are pret­ty wild,” Stone said. “It’s a new form of war­fare. It’s called law­fare. And that’s what they’re using against Trump.
