Crockett applies to trademark ‘bleach blonde bad built butch body’ insult she hurled at MTG

Rep. Jas­mine Crock­ett (D‑TX) has filed a trade­mark appli­ca­tion for a bit­ing insult she hurled against Rep. Mar­jorie Tay­lor Greene (R‑GA) dur­ing a House Over­sight Com­mit­tee hear­ing, extend­ing a feud between two well-known mem­bers of the House.
Crockett’s cam­paign filed the phrase “bleach blonde bad built butch body” with the U.S. Patent and Trade­mark Office on Sun­day. The expres­sion ref­er­ences a remark Crock­ett direct­ed toward Greene last week. While press­ing Chair­man James Com­er (R‑KY) on what con­sti­tut­ed a breach of con­gres­sion­al pro­to­col, Crock­ett asked, “If some­one on this com­mit­tee then starts talk­ing about somebody’s bleach-blonde, bad-built, butch body, that would not be engag­ing in per­son­al­i­ties, cor­rect?”

Crock­ett plans to use the phrase “bleach blonde bad built butch body” for cloth­ing items and acces­sories, includ­ing hats, hood­ies, socks, and T‑shirts. The move accom­pa­nies her “Crock­ett Clap­back Col­lec­tion” launch, which includes mer­chan­dise bear­ing the now infa­mous phrase.
