CIA brief­ing caused inves­ti­ga­tors to stop prob­ing Hunter Biden’s Hol­ly­wood lawyer: Whistle­blow­er

The CIA gave a brief­ing to the Depart­ment of Jus­tice in the sum­mer of 2021 that prompt­ed the depart­ment to shut down any pur­suit of Hunter Biden’s lawyer and friend Kevin Mor­ris, accord­ing to an affi­davit pub­lished by Con­gress on Wednes­day.
Whistle­blow­er Gary Shap­ley, a senior IRS inves­ti­ga­tor, wrote in the affi­davit that while he was work­ing on the DOJ’s broad­er inquiry into Biden, he was unex­pect­ed­ly told by a pros­e­cu­tor that he could not use Mor­ris as a wit­ness.
For­mer Assis­tant U.S. Attor­ney Les­ley Wolf, a Delaware-based pros­e­cu­tor who was heav­i­ly involved in the Biden inves­ti­ga­tion, gave the instruc­tion to Shap­ley after she had been “sum­moned” to the CIA head­quar­ters in Vir­ginia to receive the brief­ing, Shap­ley said.
“AUSA Wolf stat­ed that they were pro­vid­ed a clas­si­fied brief­ing in rela­tion to Mr. Mor­ris and as a result we could no longer pur­sue him as a wit­ness,” Shap­ley wrote.
