De Niro remarks are ‘huge change’ for Biden strategy, making Trump’s legal battles ‘political’: Byron York

The Wash­ing­ton Examiner’s Byron York argued that the Biden cam­paign recruit­ing actor Robert De Niro marked a “huge change” for Pres­i­dent Joe Biden’s 2024 cam­paign strat­e­gy, specif­i­cal­ly in how he approach­es for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump’s legal bat­tles.
York explained that the atmos­phere out­side the cour­t­house of Trump’s legal fight in Man­hat­tan had not been con­sid­ered “a big cir­cus” until De Niro’s press con­fer­ence was drowned out by Trump sup­port­ers on Tues­day. He added that before Tues­day, Biden had dis­tanced him­self from the tri­al.
