Kinzinger calls out Mike Johnson for Trump verdict comments: ‘Disappointed to see a person of faith lie’

For­mer Rep. Adam Kinzinger said he was “very dis­ap­point­ed” in House Speak­er Mike John­son (R‑LA) for what his for­mer col­league said about for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump’s guilty ver­dict.
The one-time Illi­nois con­gress­man and cur­rent CNN senior polit­i­cal com­men­ta­tor was refer­ring to Johnson’s com­ment that Trump’s con­vic­tion on 34 counts of fal­si­fy­ing busi­ness records “will prob­a­bly guar­an­tee” he wins a sec­ond term in the White House.
“As a per­son of faith myself, I’m very dis­ap­point­ed to see a per­son of faith … espe­cial­ly in such a pow­er­ful posi­tion, lie about this,” Kinzinger said. “I don’t think you can just take it right to the U.S. Supreme Court, but from the raw polit­i­cal per­spec­tive … I don’t think there is a sin­gle per­son that was com­mit­ted to Joe Biden that, because …
