Trump says guilty verdict is ‘tougher on my family than it is on me’

For­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump lament­ed the effect his guilty ver­dict has had on the for­mer first lady Mela­nia Trump and his fam­i­ly.
Trump offered an update on his fam­i­ly dur­ing a Fox and Friends inter­view that aired Sun­day. This was his first tele­vi­sion inter­view since a Man­hat­tan jury found him guilty of fal­si­fy­ing busi­ness records amid his 2024 pres­i­den­tial cam­paign, to which he has already returned. How­ev­er, despite the press cov­er­age of his tri­al, Trump him­self is under a gag order that keeps him from cor­rect­ing the record.
“I have a won­der­ful wife who has to lis­ten to this stuff all the time. They do that for this rea­son,” Trump said “But they put this stuff in to cre­ate hav­oc. These are bad peo­ple. I know every­thing they’re doing, I know every move they make, I get it. But a lot of peo­ple don’t. But it’s tougher, or I think it’s, prob­a­bly in many ways, it’s tougher on my fam­i­ly than it is on me.”
