Democratic AG files new charges against Trump allies in Wisconsin

Wis­con­sin Attor­ney Gen­er­al Josh Kaul filed charges Tues­day against Ken­neth Chese­bro, James Troupis, and Michael Roman, three allies of for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump, in rela­tion to an alleged 2020 false elec­tors scheme.
Kaul, a Demo­c­rat, is expect­ed to for­mal­ly announce the crim­i­nal com­plaint against the “unap­point­ed elec­tors” case at a press con­fer­ence Tues­day after­noon.

Accord­ing to doc­u­ments from a pre­vi­ous­ly set­tled law­suit that made pub­lic months of texts and emails, attor­neys for then-Pres­i­dent Trump alleged­ly planned for alter­nate elec­tors to file paper­work claim­ing Trump won Wis­con­sin in a bid to sub­vert Joe Biden‘s 2020 elec­tion vic­to­ry there and in oth­er swing states.
