Trump supporters suffer heat exhaustion at  former president’s Arizona event

In for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump’s first ral­ly since the rul­ing in his hush mon­ey tri­al, some of his sup­port­ers suf­fered heat exhaus­tion amid scorch­ing hot tem­per­a­tures in Phoenix.
At least 11 peo­ple were seen suf­fer­ing from heat exhaus­tion in the 102-degree weath­er, Phoenix fire offi­cials told AZFam­i­ly News.

Turn­ing Point, a con­ser­v­a­tive youth group, invit­ed Trump to speak at a Phoenix town hall. Trump start­ed speak­ing around 5 p.m. East­ern.
Led by Char­lie Kirk, the group has gar­nered the sup­port of many young peo­ple for Trump’s “Make Amer­i­ca Great Again” move­ment by host­ing con­ser­v­a­tive events and cam­paign efforts.

Ari­zona is a crit­i­cal state in the 2024 elec­tions, both in the pres­i­den­tial race and in the Sen­ate con­test between Repub­li­can Kari Lake and Rep. Ruben Gal­lego (D‑AZ). Lake, a for­mer TV news anchor, lost the guber­na­to­r­i­al race in 2022.
Trump’s South­west trip will also include mul­ti­ple pri­vate fundrais­ers and a ral­ly sched­uled for Sun­day in Neva­da, a state he nar­row­ly lost in 2020.
