Biden taps woman who left Texas for abortion for second campaign ad

Pres­i­dent Joe Biden released a sec­ond cam­paign ad fea­tur­ing the woman who was denied an abor­tion in Texas, only this time with a focus on in vit­ro fer­til­iza­tion.
Aman­da Zuraws­ki was at the head of the case Zuraws­ki v. State of Texas, where she was one of 20 women claim­ing she was denied an abor­tion despite preg­nan­cy com­pli­ca­tions. Their claim was ulti­mate­ly denied two weeks ago. Zuraws­ki explains in the video, post­ed to YouTube on Thurs­day, that she near­ly lost her life while preg­nant due to her state’s strict ban on abor­tion. While she left the state to have an abor­tion, she said she is still try­ing to get preg­nant.
“My fer­til­i­ty was per­ma­nent­ly com­pro­mised, so my hus­band and I have been try­ing to grow our fam­i­ly through IVF. But, thanks to Don­ald Trump, IVF is now at risk,” Zuraws­ki said. “So after all we’ve been through, my hus­band and I are now mov­ing our embryos out of Texas. It just nev­er stops. Let’s be clear: Don­ald Trump did this.”
