Trump receives ear­ly birth­day cake dur­ing Capi­tol Hill vis­it

For­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump cel­e­brat­ed his birth­day ear­ly with a cake from Repub­li­can law­mak­ers in Wash­ing­ton, D.C., on Thurs­day.
Trump was on Capi­tol Hill for the first time since leav­ing office in 2021. While he met with those in the GOP con­cern­ing pol­i­cy issues, the law­mak­ers took time for cake in antic­i­pa­tion of his birth­day on Fri­day.
The can­dles on the cake had the num­bers 45 and 47, in ref­er­ence to Trump being the 45th pres­i­dent and his cur­rent run to be the 47th. As the can­dles were ablaze, the soon-to-be birth­day boy asked for a knife, jok­ing­ly ref­er­enc­ing a super­sti­tion that a birth­day cake wish only comes true if the cake is cut.
