Warn­er attempt­ing to get oth­er Sen­ate Democ­rats to join him in ask­ing Biden to exit race: Report

Sen. Mark Warn­er (D‑VA) is attempt­ing to gath­er oth­er Sen­ate Democ­rats to join him in ask­ing Pres­i­dent Joe Biden to leave the 2024 pres­i­den­tial race, accord­ing to the Wash­ing­ton Post.
He’s telling his fel­low Democ­rats that Biden can no longer keep run­ning in the wake of his abysmal debate per­for­mance. Warn­er has told oth­ers that he is deeply con­cerned that Biden is not able to run a cam­paign that could beat for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump.
“Like many oth­er peo­ple in Wash­ing­ton and across the coun­try, Sen­a­tor Warn­er believes these are crit­i­cal days for the president’s cam­paign, and he has made that clear to the White House,” Warn­er spokes­woman Rachel Cohen said in a state­ment to the Wash­ing­ton Post, nei­ther con­firm­ing nor deny­ing the report.
