Eric Trump says ‘great­est ret­ri­bu­tion’ will be father’s suc­cess in Novem­ber

MILWAUKEE — Eric Trump crit­i­cized Democ­rats for per­se­cut­ing for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump in a Repub­li­can Nation­al Con­ven­tion address echo­ing his father’s promise to seek ret­ri­bu­tion for his GOP sup­port­ers.
“To all the Amer­i­cans watch­ing tonight, the great­est ret­ri­bu­tion will be our suc­cess,” Eric Trump told the crowd Thurs­day before his father’s nom­i­na­tion accep­tance speech.
“He is not a threat to democ­ra­cy, he is a threat to those who despise our repub­lic,” he said.

Eric Trump reit­er­at­ed that the for­mer pres­i­dent has been “per­se­cut­ed” and “tar­get­ed by far-left Democ­rats fund­ed by spe­cial inter­est groups and hand­picked judges,” adding, “Each time I have stood on this stage, Amer­i­ca has been at a dire cross­roads” before cit­ing his father’s record.
“He stood tall, fueled not by per­son­al ambi­tion but by a pro­found love for this coun­try and a love for all of you, the Amer­i­can peo­ple,” he said. “That man is the 45th pres­i­dent and soon-to-be 47th pres­i­dent of the Unit­ed States.”
“He did what he promised,” he said. “He put Amer­i­ca first. We were win­ning. He made Amer­i­ca great again.”

As Eric Trump deliv­ered his remarks at the con­ven­tion, his daugh­ter Car­oli­na was on the for­mer president’s knee, with wife and Repub­li­can Nation­al Com­mit­tee Co-chair­woman Lara Trump to his side, son Luke in her lap.
