Bragg urges judge to deny Trump’s recusal request despite daughter’s tie to Kamala Har­ris

Man­hat­tan Dis­trict Attor­ney Alvin Bragg asked Judge Juan Mer­chan to deny Don­ald Trump’s request that the judge recuse him­self from the for­mer president’s hush mon­ey case, accord­ing to a court let­ter made pub­lic on Fri­day.
Pros­e­cu­tors for Bragg argued that Vice Pres­i­dent Kamala Har­ris becom­ing Trump’s 2024 elec­tion oppo­nent was an irrel­e­vant detail, despite Har­ris enlist­ing the mar­ket­ing ser­vices of Juan Merchan’s daugh­ter in recent years.
The pros­e­cu­tors called the request a “vex­a­tious and friv­o­lous attempt to relit­i­gate an issue that was twice addressed by this Court.”
