Why Ramaswamy wants Harris and Trump to stop playing identity politics

For­mer pres­i­den­tial can­di­date Vivek Ramaswamy warned play­ing iden­ti­ty pol­i­tics is not worth sac­ri­fic­ing Amer­i­can uni­ty as two of the country’s top polit­i­cal fig­ures fire up trib­al war­fare.
Iden­ti­ty-charged cam­paign­ing has become a major part of the polit­i­cal dis­course dur­ing the 2024 pres­i­den­tial cam­paign of for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump and Vice Pres­i­dent Kamala Har­ris. 
Trump made head­lines this week after launch­ing an attack ques­tion­ing Harris’s bi-racial roots. Har­ris sup­port­ers recent­ly host­ed a “White Dudes for Har­ris” Zoom call that excit­ed Demo­c­ra­t­ic donors while draw­ing crit­i­cisms about seg­re­ga­tion from Repub­li­cans.
