Jack Black Says Tena­cious D ‘Will Be Back’ After Bandmate’s Trump Com­ments, Tour Can­cel­la­tion

Jack Black said he’s get­ting the band back togeth­er despite com­ments made by the oth­er half of the duo, Tena­cious D. 
The 54-year-old actor pre­vi­ous­ly can­celed the rest of the band’s tour after band­mate Kyle Gass made pub­lic state­ments about the attempt­ed assas­si­na­tion of for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump in July. The duo was tour­ing in Syd­ney, Aus­tralia, at the time of the con­tro­ver­sial remarks.
Black pre­sent­ed Gass with an oppor­tu­ni­ty to make a birth­day wish while onstage, to which Gass replied in front of the assem­bled crowd, “Don’t miss Trump next time.”
The “Trop­ic Thun­der” actor released a state­ment fol­low­ing an avalanche of back­lash over the com­ments, say­ing he was “blind­sided” by what Gass said.
