Ahead of Tuesday’s Democratic congressional primary, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D‑MN) decided to fight for her right to party.
The incumbent “Squad” member, who faces her second challenge from former Minneapolis City Council member Don Samuels, posted a video to her X account on Thursday singing the Beastie Boys’ classic song at a Minneapolis bar, with a campaign message attached.“Fighting for the right to party,” Omar wrote in a post accompanying the video. “Fighting for the right to bodily autonomy. Fighting for the right to a livable planet. Fighting for the right to universal healthcare.”
