Har­ris secures promi­nent Lati­no civ­il rights group’s first-ever endorse­ment

The nation’s old­est and largest Lati­no civ­il rights orga­ni­za­tion, the League of Unit­ed Latin Amer­i­can Cit­i­zens, has endorsed Vice Pres­i­dent Kamala Har­ris for pres­i­dent in a his­toric first for the group.
The exec­u­tive board of LULAC’s polit­i­cal action com­mit­tee vot­ed unan­i­mous­ly to endorse Har­ris and her run­ning mate, Gov. Tim Walz (D‑MN), on Fri­day, the orga­ni­za­tion announced in a press release.
It marks LULAC’s first endorse­ment of any pres­i­den­tial can­di­date since the civ­il rights group was found­ed in 1929.
“Today, we are proud to endorse Kamala Har­ris and Tim Walz because of the real issues fac­ing Lati­no com­mu­ni­ties and all Amer­i­cans across the nation; we can trust them to do what is right for our com­mu­ni­ty and the coun­try,” said Domin­go Gar­cia, the LULAC Ade­lante PAC chair­man and past LULAC nation­al pres­i­dent.
