Rep. Elis­sa Slotkin’s home tar­get­ed in swat­ting inci­dent

Rep. Elis­sa Slotkin’s (D‑MI) home was tar­get­ed in a swat­ting inci­dent Thurs­day in Michi­gan.
Michi­gan State Police con­firmed they respond­ed to a “false threat” at Slotkin’s home in Hol­ly, Michi­gan. Swat­ting refers to some­one mak­ing false emer­gency calls to prompt a heavy law enforce­ment response.
A spokes­woman for Slotkin told the Detroit News that the con­gress­woman was not home at the time of the inci­dent.
“This is the lat­est in a dis­turb­ing trend of swat­ting inci­dents tar­get­ing mem­bers of Con­gress,” Slotkin spokes­woman Lynsey Mukomel told the out­let.
“Con­gress­woman Slotkin is deeply grate­ful for the swift and pro­fes­sion­al response by law enforce­ment to this unfor­tu­nate inci­dent, and that U.S. Capi­tol Police will be fol­low­ing up to inves­ti­gate and hope­ful­ly hold account­able those respon­si­ble,” she con­tin­ued.
