Law­mak­ers Launch Inves­ti­ga­tion Into Walz Over ‘Exten­sive’ Ties To Com­mu­nist Chi­na

Law­mak­ers on the House Over­sight Com­mit­tee led by Rep. James Com­er (R‑KY) announced Fri­day that they are inves­ti­gat­ing Min­neso­ta Demo­c­ra­t­ic gov­er­nor and vice pres­i­den­tial can­di­date Tim Walz over his “exten­sive” ties to enti­ties linked to the Chi­nese Com­mu­nist Par­ty. 
In a let­ter to FBI Direc­tor Christo­pher Wray, Com­er request­ed that the agency pro­duce doc­u­ments on any com­mu­ni­ca­tions or doc­u­ments it may have per­tain­ing to Walz’s aca­d­e­m­ic and busi­ness ties to Chi­na. Walz’s con­nec­tions to Chi­na have come under increas­ing scruti­ny since Vice Pres­i­dent Kamala Har­ris select­ed him to run along­side her.
