Har­ris puts stray elec­toral vote in play in bat­tle­ground Nebras­ka dis­trict

Vice Pres­i­dent Kamala Har­ris leads for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump in a Nebras­ka dis­trict that could sway the pres­i­den­tial elec­tion with its sin­gle Elec­toral Col­lege vote.
Har­ris leads Trump by at least 8 per­cent­age points in Nebraska’s 2nd Con­gres­sion­al Dis­trict, gar­ner­ing 50% of the elec­torate com­pared to the for­mer president’s 42%, accord­ing to a new poll con­duct­ed by Rem­ing­ton Research Group. That is the widest gap seen in the dis­trict dur­ing the 2024 cycle, which pre­vi­ous­ly showed Trump and Pres­i­dent Joe Biden with alter­nat­ing leads.
The poll is also the first since Har­ris replaced Biden at the top of the tick­et and cor­re­sponds with a major Demo­c­ra­t­ic polling boost nation­wide. Repub­li­cans, for their part, are bank­ing on that momen­tum peter­ing out as Elec­tion Day nears.
