Trump blames Biden and Har­ris for sec­ond assas­si­na­tion attempt

For­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump point­ed the blame at Vice Pres­i­dent Kamala Har­ris, his 2024 rival, and Pres­i­dent Joe Biden, whose “rhetoric” he claims indi­rect­ly led to a sec­ond assas­si­na­tion attempt.
“He believed the rhetoric of Biden and Har­ris, and he act­ed on it,” Trump told Fox News Dig­i­tal about the gunman’s motive. “Their rhetoric is caus­ing me to be shot at, when I am the one who is going to save the coun­try, and they are the ones that are destroy­ing the coun­try — both from the inside and out.” 
Gun­shots were fired in the for­mer president’s vicin­i­ty at the Trump Nation­al Golf Club in Flori­da Sun­day, but author­i­ties were able to detain the sus­pect, Ryan Wes­ley Routh, after a wit­ness spot­ted him. Trump and his assailant were sep­a­rat­ed by 400–500 yards, accord­ing to Palm Beach Sher­iff Ric Brad­shaw.
