Walz alludes to Mark Robin­son con­tro­ver­sy at cam­paign ral­ly in Penn­syl­va­nia

Gov. Tim Walz (D‑MN) seem­ing­ly allud­ed to North Car­oli­na Repub­li­can guber­na­to­r­i­al nom­i­nee Mark Robin­son on Sat­ur­day after a report sur­faced ear­li­er this week alleg­ing Robin­son made offen­sive com­ments on a pornog­ra­phy site’s mes­sage board.
Speak­ing at a ral­ly in Beth­le­hem, Penn­syl­va­nia, Walz tran­si­tioned from dis­cussing the city’s steel roots and con­tri­bu­tions in build­ing tanks used to fight against the Nazis in World War II to ref­er­enc­ing one of Robinson’s alleged com­ments in which he called him­self a “black Nazi.”
“That iron from the north­ern Min­neso­ta iron range fueled the steel mills here, right in the Lehigh Val­ley. Togeth­er it was our peo­ple that built the tanks that won World War II and freed the world from Nazi oppres­sion,” he said.
