White House downplays supply chain snarls amid dockworkers strike

The White House is down­play­ing the pos­si­ble eco­nom­ic reper­cus­sions of the dock­work­ers strike one month before the 2024 elec­tion amid polling that indi­cates the econ­o­my is the top con­cern of many vot­ers.
“We’re going to con­tin­ue close­ly mon­i­tor­ing the sit­u­a­tion, what this could have, poten­tial­ly, on the sup­ply chain impacts, assess­ing ways to address any con­cerns if nec­es­sary,” press sec­re­tary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters Tues­day.
