Trump’s name added to Palm Avenue after Miami-Dade commissioners vote

Commissions in Miami-Dade County, Florida, voted in favor of a resolution approving a measure by the city of Hialeah to add President-elect Donald Trump‘s name to Palm Avenue.

County commissioners voted 9–1 to approve the city measure to co-designate the four-mile stretch of Palm Avenue in Hialeah as President Donald J. Trump Avenue. Hialeah city officials unanimously approved the measure last year, and Hialeah Mayor Esteban Bovo unveiled a street sign with the new name during a Trump rally in the city in November 2023.

District 6 Commissioner Kevin Cabrera celebrated the ratification of the action, saying that adding the president-elect’s name to the street honors his legacy in South Florida.

“President Donald J. Trump Avenue is official in Miami-Dade County! Today, we ratified the City of Hialeah’s initiative to honor President Trump’s legacy of championing freedom and opportunity by co-designating Palm Avenue — a vital artery in our community — as ‘President Donald J. Trump Avenue,’” Cabrera said in a post on X.

“Miami-Dade County strongly supported President Trump during the election, and this designation serves as a lasting tribute to his leadership and vision for our nation,” he added.
