FACT CHECK: Did Elon Musk Announce Diddy And Epstein’s Client Lists Will Be Released On January 20?

A post shared on Face­book claims Tes­la CEO and own­er of X Elon Musk pur­port­ed­ly announced rap­per Sean “Did­dy” Combs and late financier Jef­frey Epstein’s client lists will be released on Jan. 20.

The claim is false and orig­i­nates via the SpaceX Fan­club page on Face­book, which posts satir­i­cal con­tent.

Fact Check:

Combs alleged­ly threat­ened to kill Bryana “Bana” Bon­golan and dan­gled her from a 17th-floor bal­cony, accord­ing to a law­suit filed by Bon­golan, USA Today report­ed. The alleged inci­dent took place in Sep­tem­ber 2016 at Combs’ ex-girl­friend Casan­dra “Cassie” Ven­tu­ra Fine’s apart­ment in Los Ange­les, the out­let indi­cat­ed.

The Face­book post, which has gar­nered over 40,000 likes as of writ­ing, claims Musk pur­port­ed­ly announced Combs and Epstein’s client lists will be released on Jan. 20.

“Elon Musk Announces Jan­u­ary 20th as the Date for Bomb­shell Release of Did­dy and Epstein Client List: ‘We Expose Them All,’” the post reads. The post, which does not pro­vide a source to sup­port its claim, fea­tures side-by-side pho­tos of Combs and Musk.

The claim is false and orig­i­nates via the SpaceX Fan­club page on Face­book, which posts satir­i­cal con­tent. Accord­ing to its bio, the page states that it shares satire and “noth­ing on this page is real.” The page’s bio also includes a link to the web­site “Esspots.com,” a satire site that is a sub­sidiary of the site SpaceX Mania.com.

In addi­tion, Check Your Fact found no cred­i­ble news reports to sup­port the claim. Actu­al­ly, the oppo­site is true. On Dec. 2, Lead Sto­ries debunked the claim, indi­cat­ing it orig­i­nat­ed via the same satir­i­cal Face­book page.
