Trump chooses Frank Bisignano as his Social Security head

Pres­i­dent-elect Don­ald Trump has cho­sen Fis­erv Cor­po­ra­tion CEO Frank Bisig­nano as his nom­i­nee to be com­mis­sion­er of the Social Secu­ri­ty Admin­is­tra­tion, he post­ed on Truth Social on Wednes­day.

Bisig­nano is the third Cab­i­net choice Trump has made on Wednes­day, nom­i­nat­ing for­mer Geor­gia Sen. Kel­ly Loef­fler and for­mer Mis­souri Rep. Bil­ly Long to lead the Small Busi­ness Admin­is­tra­tion and IRS, respec­tive­ly.

“I am very pleased to nom­i­nate Frank Bisig­nano to serve as the Com­mis­sion­er of the Social Secu­ri­ty Admin­is­tra­tion,” Trump wrote. “Frank is a busi­ness leader, with a tremen­dous track record of trans­form­ing large cor­po­ra­tions. He will be respon­si­ble to deliv­er on the Agency’s com­mit­ment to the Amer­i­can Peo­ple for gen­er­a­tions to come!”

On the cam­paign trail, Trump vowed to elim­i­nate tax­es on Social Secu­ri­ty.

Fis­erv is a com­pa­ny that pro­vides finan­cial tech­nol­o­gy to insti­tu­tions, busi­ness­es, and peo­ple. “The smarter future we are build­ing is fueled by the poten­tial of new tech­nolo­gies that will ele­vate the ways our clients engage with their cus­tomers and the way we work at Fis­erv,” Bisig­nano said in a quote on the group’s web­site. Bisig­nano pre­vi­ous­ly served as COO of JPMor­gan Chase and CEO of First Data.

“Frank Bisig­nano cur­rent­ly serves as the Chair­man, Pres­i­dent, and Chief Exec­u­tive Offi­cer of Fis­erv Cor­po­ra­tion, the World’s largest pay­ments and finan­cial tech­nol­o­gy com­pa­ny that touch­es almost every Amer­i­can house­hold each day,” Trump added in his announce­ment. “He has a long career lead­ing finan­cial ser­vices insti­tu­tions through great trans­for­ma­tion.”

Bisig­nano donat­ed hun­dreds of thou­sands to Repub­li­cans includ­ing Trump in the past, though he also donat­ed to Sen­ate Major­i­ty Leader Chuck Schumer (D‑NY) and New Jer­sey first lady Tam­my Murphy’s Sen­ate cam­paign.
