A post shared on Face­book claims pod­cast­er Joe Rogan is pur­port­ed­ly replac­ing Rachel Mad­dow as prime-time host at MSNBC.

The claim is false and orig­i­nal­ly stems from a Nov. 23 post made by the satir­i­cal Face­book page “SpaceX Fan­club.”

Fact Check:

Rogan’s pod­cast, “The Joe Rogan Expe­ri­ence,” was the num­ber one most-lis­tened-to pod­cast on Spo­ti­fy in 2024, accord­ing to Vari­ety. Rogan’s pod­cast was also the top pod­cast in the U.S. for “the fourth year run­ning,” the out­let report­ed.

The Face­book post, which has received over 300 likes as of writ­ing, claims Rogan is pur­port­ed­ly replac­ing Mad­dow as prime-time host at MSNBC.

“Joe Rogan To Replace Rachel Mad­dow as MSNBC’s Prime-Time Host After Elon Musk Takeover,” the post reads. The post, which fea­tures side-by-side pho­tos of Mad­dow and Rogan, does not pro­vide a source to sup­port its claim.

The claim is false and orig­i­nal­ly stems from a Nov. 23 post made by the satir­i­cal Face­book page “SpaceX Fan­club.” The Face­book page describes itself as post­ing satir­i­cal con­tent via its bio, indi­cat­ing that “noth­ing on this page is real.” The page’s bio also includes a link to the web­site “Esspots.com,” a satire site that is a sub­sidiary of the site SpaceX Mania.com. Like­wise, Check Your Fact did not find the claim ref­er­enced on Rogan’s web­site or his ver­i­fied social media accounts. Mad­dow also has not pub­licly com­ment­ed on the claim via her web­site or ver­i­fied social media accounts. MSNBC has not ref­er­enced the claim, either.

In addi­tion, Check Your Fact found no cred­i­ble news reports to sup­port the claim. Actu­al­ly, the oppo­site is true. On Dec. 3, Snopes debunked the claim, stat­ing it had orig­i­nat­ed via the same satir­i­cal Face­book page.
