Meghan Train­or: I ‘Got Too Much Botox’ And A ‘Lip Flip,’ Can’t ‘Smile Any­more’

Pop singer Meghan Train­or said she regrets a cos­met­ic pro­ce­dure she had recent­ly which has left her unable to smile prop­er­ly.

The 30-year-old star dis­cussed what hap­pened dur­ing a recent episode of her “Workin’ On It” pod­cast, admit­ting she “got too much Botox.”

“I messed up,” she added.

“Some­one con­vinced me with my lit­tle lips that if you did a lip flip, you put filler right above your upper lip, that you could have a beau­ti­ful flip on your upper lip. And I could have one for the first time in my whole 30 years of liv­ing — it was not true,” she said.

“I can­not smile any­more,” Train­or went on. “Every­where I go, I can­not smile. My face hurts to smile, to even try.”

Train­or demon­strat­ed her new look, say­ing, “This is as big as I can smile,” while address­ing the cam­era.

She then shared a pho­to of her­self hold­ing a dog at a shel­ter. She said she was a “hap­py per­son” in the pho­to even if she didn’t look like it. “I look like I smelled someone’s fart,” she joked while speak­ing with her broth­er on the pod­cast.

The singer told her fol­low­ers, “Don’t try every­thing.”

The “Whoops” singer said despite the cos­met­ic pro­ce­dure fail, she’s still plan­ning on get­ting a breast pro­ce­dure in the future.

Train­or said she wants to get “just a lit­tle lift,” and “maybe a lit­tle implant just so they’re like, ‘We are boobs,’ ‘cause right now, they are not.”

Accord­ing to the Amer­i­can Soci­ety of Plas­tic Sur­geons, a lip flip uses Botox “to relax a mus­cle in the upper lip, caus­ing the lip to ‘flip’ and giv­ing the appear­ance of a fuller upper lip. The pro­ce­dure is dif­fer­ent than get­ting lip fillers, which are injec­tions direct­ly into the lip, as opposed to above it.”

The pro­ce­dure is said to look more “nat­ur­al” than tra­di­tion­al fillers.

Sev­er­al celebri­ties have been forth­com­ing about their plas­tic surgery fail­ures in the past. Last year, “Lit­tle House on the Prairie” actress Melis­sa Gilbert said she under­went cos­met­ic surgery that made her look like “the spawn of Satan.”

“I had no facial expres­sion, which is anath­e­ma con­sid­er­ing what I do for a liv­ing,” Gilbert said at the time, adding, “It’s exhaust­ing keep­ing up that kind of façade. I was very inse­cure.”
