Trump cel­e­brates Toy­ota mov­ing Taco­ma pick­up pro­duc­tion from Mex­i­co to Texas: ‘Tar­iffs at work!’

Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump her­ald­ed automak­er Toyota’s announce­ment that it plans to shift much of its pro­duc­tion from Mex­i­co to the Unit­ed States as evi­dence that his tar­iff poli­cies are working.Late Mon­day night, Toy­ota out­lined plans for a $3.6 bil­lion expan­sion of its man­u­fac­tur­ing cen­ter in San Anto­nio, Texas, which will include shift­ing near­ly all pro­duc­tion com­po­nents for its Taco­ma line of pick­up trucks from its Baja Cal­i­for­nia plant in Mex­i­co.
