Vances announce birth of their fourth child, Alec

Vice Pres­i­dent JD Vance and sec­ond lady Usha Vance announced the birth of their fourth child, a son named Alec Neel Vance, on Sun­day.
“We are excit­ed to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morn­ing,” the cou­ple said in a state­ment shared on social media. “Usha and the baby are hap­py and healthy, and our kids are over­joyed to meet their lit­tle broth­er.”

The Vances also thanked the staff at Wal­ter Reed Nation­al Mil­i­tary Med­ical Cen­ter and the White House Med­ical Unit for their care.

“The incred­i­ble mil­i­tary doc­tors and staff mem­bers of Wal­ter Reed Med­ical Cen­ter and the White House Med­ical Unit have been a bless­ing,” the state­ment read. “We are deeply thank­ful for all they have done for our fam­i­ly.”
Alec is the fourth child of the vice pres­i­dent and sec­ond lady, who mar­ried in 2014. The cou­ple is also par­ents to three young chil­dren: sons Ewan and Vivek, and daugh­ter Mirabel.
