Trump to have din­ner with Anthrop­ic CEO Dario Amod­ei at White House: Report

Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump is report­ed­ly slat­ed to have din­ner with Anthrop­ic CEO Dario Amod­ei at the White House, open­ing up a chance to warm their long, frosty rela­tion­ship.
Trump and Amod­ei have long been at log­ger­heads, a dis­pute that first arose over the AI leader’s refusal to give the Pen­ta­gon unfet­tered access to Anthropic’s top mod­els. Amodei’s recent calls to slow down AI devel­op­ment have also clashed with Trump’s full-speed-ahead pref­er­ence. The dis­mal state of their rela­tion­ship was show­cased on Thurs­day, when Amod­ei was the only major AI fig­ure not invit­ed to the White House din­ner Trump host­ed for Chi­nese Pres­i­dent Xi Jin­ping.
