California teacher boasts adult-themed ‘queer library’ for students

One California teacher is going viral on social media over her library full of books on the LGBT lifestyle for her students.
The English teacher is known by San Juan Hills High School’s website as Danielle Serio but is known online as “Flint” for her “queer library.” Among the books are some containing adult content.
Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Being Trans contains a reference to FetLife, a social media network for those in the kink community, and This Book is Gay mentions Grindr, a dating app with a reputation of being used mostly for hookups. Other books discuss prostitution, BDSM, group sex, and more adult topics.

Serio has over 144,000 followers on TikTok but has set her account to private.
The Capistrano Unified School District school board recognized Serio for her efforts in a board meeting in 2017 for her library. She raised money on the fundraising website DonorsChoose beginning in 2016.
“Not only does Danielle work with LGBTQ students on a daily basis, she is involved with the education of our staff as well. Danielle was successful in proposing updates to our district’s non-discrimination policy, AB-1266, and spoke on behalf of all CUSD transgender students at a board meeting,” the board wrote of Serio in a Facebook post. “Thanks to her time and heart, our board policy now includes protections for marginalized LGBTQ students.”
In a recent TikTok, Serio interviewed Dr. Manoj Mahindrakar, the principal of her school, about his thoughts surrounding the library.
“In my educational experience, books are always a good thing, and any books that support our students, I’m for,” Mahindrakar said in the video.
