A man armed with Molotov cocktails was arrested Wednesday afternoon north of the Capitol, according to the U.S. Capitol Police.

CAPITOL POLICE ARREST TWO PROTESTERS OUTSIDE SUPREME COURT

The man, whose identity has not been released, was arrested on Massachusetts Avenue, west of North Capitol Street, by Capitol Police at around 3:30 p.m., the agency said in a tweet.

The man was in possession of two of the improvised weapons, Capitol Police said, adding, “There is no indication this was related to the Capitol, Members of Congress, or any protests.”

Capitol Police shared a photo of a shattered bottle, presumably what was left of one of the incendiary devices, on a sidewalk.

More details are expected in a news release to be released in the evening. Capitol Police told the Washington Examiner that a statement is still being devised.
