Mark Cuban admits he only supported Kamala Harris because ‘she wasn’t Donald Trump’

Billionaire Mark Cuban revealed that his support for former Vice President Kamala Harris stemmed from how “she wasn’t Donald Trump” when asked in a new interview why he campaigned for Harris in 2024.

Cuban was one of several celebrities to support Harris in her presidential campaign bid against then-presidential candidate Donald Trump, which included an appearance at a Wisconsin rally. In a one-on-one discussion with Stephen A. Smith, the former Shark Tank host was asked what drew him to supporting Harris despite “how chaotic things looked” for the Democratic Party, to which he simply said, “Because she wasn’t Donald Trump.

Smith then asked if Cuban would have voted differently if the Republican Party’s presidential nominee was someone other than Trump, such as former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley or Gov. Ron DeSantis (R‑FL). In response, Cuban pointed to how he voted for Haley in the Texas primary, adding that while he did not see eye-to-eye with Haley on everything, he would have “considered” supporting her if she were the nominee for president.

Cuban also said he did not want to throw Harris “under the bus,” contending that she is “smarter than what people give her credit for.” However, he criticized her campaign staff, arguing they held her back from doing “basic things that would have made a lot of difference.”

Going forward, Cuban said he has spoken to the Trump administration about healthcare and the cost of pharmacy, citing his success with CostPlus, his online pharmacy company. He added that he is “all about Team USA,” and expressed a desire to help the country regardless of who is president.

IF TRUMP WANTS TARIFF RECIPROCITY, HE MUST REJECT LUTNICK AND NAVARRO

“If I can help cut the cost of healthcare in the United States of America, it doesn’t matter who the president is, whether I like him or dislike him, I’m going to do what I can,” Cuban said.

Following Election Day, Cuban congratulated both Trump and Elon Musk on the election results, stating that Trump won the election “fair and square.”
