White House refus­es to com­ment on Israel’s retal­ia­to­ry strikes against Iran

White House press sec­re­tary Karine Jean-Pierre opened her Fri­day press brief­ing by alert­ing reporters that she would not be com­ment­ing in any form about the overnight strikes against Iran­ian mil­i­tary facil­i­ties.
Israel report­ed­ly launched three tar­get­ed strikes ear­ly Fri­day morn­ing that destroyed Iran­ian mil­i­tary equip­ment in an appar­ent retal­i­a­tion for the 300 drones and mis­siles Iran launched at Israel last week­end. Israel, the Unit­ed States, and oth­er allies shot down 99% of those attacks, accord­ing to Nation­al Secu­ri­ty Coun­cil spokesman John Kir­by.
Despite her dec­la­ra­tion at the top of the brief­ing, Jean-Pierre still faced sev­er­al ques­tions on the top­ic but declined to offer specifics in any shape or form.
