Democrats are trying to boost down-ballot candidates in the November elections with an eye toward some of the key states for President Joe Biden in the top-of-the-ballot contest.
The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee announced Monday a new $10 million investment in key states where it plans to focus on down-ballot races, even as the presidential and congressional elections get the most attention. The DLCC has named its effort the Summer of the States, with the committee claiming it is an “early call to action” to focus on lower-profile contests in November.
