White House rips ‘abusive’ impeachment inquiry in Biden as confidence starts to falter

White House coun­sel Edward Siskel sent a let­ter Fri­day morn­ing to House Speak­er Mike John­son (R‑LA), call­ing on the clo­sure of the impeach­ment inquiry into Pres­i­dent Joe Biden as Repub­li­cans start to acknowl­edge stalled efforts. 
“I write to you today because it is clear the House Repub­li­can impeach­ment is over,” Siskel wrote, accord­ing to a copy of the let­ter obtained by the Wash­ing­ton Exam­in­er. 
The four-page let­ter states House Repub­li­cans have held sev­er­al pub­lic hear­ings, heard from 20 wit­ness­es, and col­lect­ed 100,000 pages of records but could not prove their alle­ga­tions of the president’s involve­ment in his son Hunter Biden’s busi­ness deal­ings and finan­cial ben­e­fits from his family’s for­eign aff …
