Lindsey Graham makes surprise visit to Ukraine after voting against aid bill

Sen. Lind­sey Gra­ham (R‑SC) made a sur­prise vis­it to Ukraine on Mon­day to reit­er­ate his sup­port for con­tin­ued U.S. defense aid to the coun­try after vot­ing against the assis­tance bill stalled in Con­gress. 
Gra­ham touched down in Kyiv on Mon­day morn­ing for meet­ings with Ukrain­ian Pres­i­dent Volodymyr Zelen­sky and his Cab­i­net. He also stopped by the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv to meet with Amer­i­can offi­cials on the ground. 
While there, Gra­ham raised the idea of heed­ing for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump’s sug­ges­tion to pro­vide Ukraine the aid as a con­di­tion­al loan. He also said no aid can pass with­out Con­gress address­ing the migrant cri­sis at the U.S. south­ern bor­der.
