‘CONFUSION’: Google Gemini Apologizes for Its Falsehoods about Trump, Biden

Google’s no-whites-allowed arti­fi­cial intel­li­gence chat­bot went to great lengths to cov­er for Pres­i­dent Biden’s mis­man­age­ment of the U.S. econ­o­my. 
In response to ques­tions from MRC Busi­ness researchers about for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump and Pres­i­dent Joe Biden’s economies, Gem­i­ni twice led with incor­rect infor­ma­tion in bold that served to den­i­grate the for­mer while bol­ster­ing the lat­ter. Amer­i­cans’ aver­age per­son­al sav­ings rate rose from 5.6 per­cent to 12.8 per­cent from Feb. 1, 2017 to Feb. 1, 2021, but suf­fered a bruis­ing fall from 12.8 per­cent on Feb. 1, 2021 to 3.8 per­cent on Jan. 1, 2024.
