Mike Lawler dodges endors­ing Trump’s reelec­tion bid: ‘Focused on my dis­trict’

Rep. Mike Lawler (R‑NY) refused to com­ment Sun­day on whether or not he would sup­port for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump’s cam­paign for a sec­ond term this Novem­ber. 
In an inter­view with Dana Bash on CNN’s State of the Union, Lawler said he is focused on deliv­er­ing for his New York dis­trict. Lawler did not endorse Trump in the pri­ma­ry, when asked if he would endorse Trump, he said he was not focused on an endorse­ment. 
“Look, I’m not focused right now on the pres­i­den­tial race, I am focused on my cam­paign and my dis­trict and the work we are doing here,” Lawler said. “At some point, I’m sure I’ll have a com­ment with respect to the pres­i­den­tial race, but right now, I’m focused on my dis­trict.”
