Patrick Mahomes encour­ages vot­ers to ‘do the research’ over giv­ing his endorse­ment

Patrick Mahomes has explained in a new inter­view why he avoids par­tak­ing in con­tro­ver­sial top­ics in pol­i­tics, includ­ing pres­i­den­tial endorse­ments and gun con­trol. 
The Kansas City Chiefs quar­ter­back said he would like to see vot­ers do their own research ahead of the Novem­ber elec­tions, which could include a rematch between Pres­i­dent Joe Biden and for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump. Mahomes did not pro­vide any endorse­ment in the 2020 pres­i­den­tial elec­tion, and indi­cat­ed he has no plans to give one for 2024.
“I don’t want to pres­sure any­one to vote for a cer­tain pres­i­dent,” Mahomes said. “I want peo­ple to use their voice, who­ev­er they believe in. I want them to do the research.”
