Hillary Clin­ton sug­gests Trump wants to ‘kill’ oppo­si­tion and ‘exile’ jour­nal­ists

For­mer Sec­re­tary of State Hillary Clin­ton pre­dict­ed that should Don­ald Trump win reelec­tion in Novem­ber, he could pur­sue vio­lent ends to his oppo­si­tion in pol­i­tics and in the media.
Clin­ton appeared on the pod­cast Defend­ing Democ­ra­cy in an episode that aired Fri­day, where she spent the major­i­ty of the near­ly 45-minute inter­view dis­cussing Trump, who beat her in the 2016 pres­i­den­tial elec­tion, and his sup­port­ers. Dur­ing the inter­view, Clin­ton sug­gest­ed Trump might take a page out of Russ­ian Pres­i­dent Vladimir Putin’s book should he retake the office.
“Trump was like, you know, just gaga over Putin because Putin does what Trump would like to do: Kill his oppo­si­tion, imprison his oppo­si­tion, dri­ve jour­nal­ists and oth­ers into exile, rule with­out any check or bal­ance,” Clin­ton said. “That’s what Trump real­ly wants.”
