Trump ‘couldn’t care less’ that Pence won’t endorse him: ‘We don’t need weak people’

For­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump respond­ed to his for­mer vice president’s refusal to endorse him on Tues­day, claim­ing the coun­try does not need “weak peo­ple.”
Trump took his dis­mis­sive view of Mike Pence as he nar­rows down his list of pos­si­ble run­ning mates in 2024.
“I couldn’t care less,” Trump said of Pence’s lack of sup­port as he vot­ed in the Flori­da pri­ma­ry, per the Hill. “We need patri­ots. We need strong peo­ple in our coun­try. Our coun­try is going down­hill very fast, very rapid­ly. We need strong peo­ple in this coun­try. We don’t need weak peo­ple.”

Pence said he could not endorse Trump on Fri­day and accused his for­mer boss of going against the con­ser­v­a­tive poli­cies that the pair had cham­pi­oned for four years. 
“It should come as no sur­prise that I will not be endors­ing Don­ald Trump this year,” Pence told Fox News’s Martha Mac­Cal­lum. “Dur­ing my pres­i­den­tial cam­paign, I made it clear there were pro­found dif­fer­ences between me and Pres­i­dent Trump on a range of issues, and not just our dif­fer­ences on our con­sti­tu­tion­al duties that I exer­cised on Jan. 6.
