RNC Sues Nevada Secretary Of State Alleging ‘Impossibly High’ Voter Rolls

Neva­da Sec­re­tary of State Fran­cis­co Agu­liar, a Demo­c­rat, was sued by the Repub­li­can Nation­al Com­mit­tee (RNC) last week as the par­ty alleges the 2024 bat­tle­ground state has “impos­si­bly high” vot­er rolls.
The law­suit, filed in U.S. Dis­trict Court, alleges that Agu­liar and five coun­ty clerks failed to prop­er­ly main­tain the require­ments of the Nation­al Vot­er Reg­is­tra­tion Act of 1993 (NVRA).
“Sec­tion 8 of the NVRA requires States to main­tain clean and accu­rate vot­er reg­is­tra­tion records,” the law­suit begins. “Neva­da has failed to live up to the NVRA’s require­ments. At least five coun­ties in Neva­da have inor­di­nate­ly high vot­er reg­is­tra­tion rates.”
