Biden and Trump cruise to victory in Louisiana primaries

Pres­i­dent Joe Biden and for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump coast­ed to vic­to­ry Sat­ur­day in their respec­tive par­ties’ pri­ma­ry elec­tions in Louisiana.
The Asso­ci­at­ed Press called both races with­in six min­utes of the polls clos­ing at 9 p.m. EDT. Both Biden and Trump had gar­nered at least 87% of votes with 30% count­ed.
The results did not come as a sur­prise, as both men have reached the del­e­gate thresh­olds nec­es­sary to become the pre­sump­tive major par­ty nom­i­nees for pres­i­dent. Trump has claimed all 47 Repub­li­can del­e­gates at stake, and Biden is on track to col­lect all 48 on the Demo­c­ra­t­ic side.

Mis­souri also held its Demo­c­ra­t­ic pri­ma­ry on Sat­ur­day, although results are not expect­ed until Mon­day at the ear­li­est, accord­ing to the New York Times.
