CNN ends ‘King Charles’ show co-hosted by Gayle King and Charles Barkley

The short reign of CNN’s King Charles has come to an end as the net­work announced that the show’s lim­it­ed run is over.
The week­ly talk show, co-host­ed by CBS Mornings’s Gayle King and TNT’s Charles Barkley, had been announced last year to debut in Novem­ber, and it fin­ished its final episode on Wednes­day. The net­work says it is hap­py with the show’s per­for­mance, adding that it brought in new view­ers for CNN.
“King Charles has come to the end of its lim­it­ed run, as we announced when it launched last fall, and was a great addi­tion to CNN’s line­up, with the youngest, most afflu­ent, and most diverse P2+ audi­ence in its cable news time peri­od,” a state­ment from a net­work spokesper­son to the Wash­ing­ton Exam­in­er read.
