Republicans received a major boost in the race to keep Rep. Nancy Mace‘s (R‑SC) seat red after a federal court ruled in favor of a redistricting map favorable to the GOP.
Though the court originally ruled that Mace’s district had been racially gerrymandered, it decided Thursday that the district could stay in place for the 2024 election. The three-judge panel took up the case after the Supreme Court took too long, ruling that although the situation was not ideal, a decision had to be made before the state primary.
