Clyburn blames Hillary Clinton’s 2016 loss on misinformation

Rep. Jim Clyburn (D‑SC) expressed his con­cern that Pres­i­dent Joe Biden‘s cam­paign could share the same fate as Hillary Clinton‘s did in 2016, which he chalked up to “mis­in­for­ma­tion.”
Clyburn appeared on Velshi on Sat­ur­day to reit­er­ate his con­cerns about Biden’s chances of win­ning a sec­ond term. In Jan­u­ary, Clyburn claimed he was wor­ried that black vot­ers would not show up for Biden. A USA Today poll report­ed that 63% of black vot­ers sup­port Biden, but the Demo­c­ra­t­ic Par­ty has in past years enjoyed a much larg­er major­i­ty.
“I am still con­cerned because I have been around this busi­ness long enough to know that were it not for mis­in­for­ma­tion, that Hillary Clin­ton would have been elect­ed pres­i­dent of the Unit­ed States. I think all of us know that,” Clyburn said. “Deci­sions can be made based upon false infor­ma­tion. That is what con­cerns me. I want the Amer­i­can vot­er to be well informed, blacks and whites.”
