JD Vance vows to help Trump ‘however I can’ amid vice president speculation

Sen. J.D. Vance (R‑OH) said it would be “a great hon­or” to help Don­ald Trump as a run­ning mate.
Vance appeared on Fox News’s The Ingra­ham Angle on Thurs­day to address reports that he is on Trump’s short list for vice pres­i­dent. Oth­ers believed to be on the list include Sen. Tim Scott (R‑SC), Gov. Kristi Noem (R‑SD), Rep. Byron Don­alds (R‑FL), for­mer Hawaii Rep. Tul­si Gab­bard, for­mer GOP pres­i­den­tial can­di­date Vivek Ramaswamy, Gov. Ron DeSan­tis (R‑FL), and Gov. Greg Abbott (R‑TX). 
“I have actu­al­ly nev­er spo­ken to the pres­i­dent about VP spec­u­la­tion,” Vance said. “My sim­ple answer is, I want to help him how­ev­er I can. If he asks me, of course I would think seri­ous­ly about it. It would be a great hon­or. I also am hap­py to sup­port the agen­da in the Unit­ed States Sen­ate.”
